SLAI T-Rex: Full-Parameter Post-training of the DeepSeek-V4 Family on Ascend SuperPOD
Full-parameter post-training of trillion-parameter-scale MoE models introduces substantial system-level challenges for large-scale distributed training, including severe memory pressure, non-overlapped communication overhead, and inefficient kernel execution. While most large-scale LLM training systems are built around GPU-based clusters, this report presents an end-to-end optimization practice on the Ascend NPU SuperPOD. Using the DeepSeek-V4 model family as the target workload, we develop a hierarchical optimization framework spanning model-level parallelism, computation-communication orches
LCPNet: Latent Consistent Proximal Unfolding Network for Infrared Small Target Detection
Infrared small target detection (IRSTD) aims to identify long distance small targets from complex infrared backgrounds, and is a fundamental task in remote sensing. Deep learning methods have improved IRSTD by learning discriminative image-to-mask mappings, but such feed-forward designs often underuse physical decomposition structure between targets and backgrounds. Deep unfolding methods partially address this issue by embedding model-driven iterations into neural networks, yet existing designs still operate mainly in image domain and use updates and memory mechanisms that are not fully coupl
SAM-MT: Real-Time Interactive Multi-Target Video Segmentation
Modern Video Object Segmentation (VOS) involves tracking and segmenting user-specified targets. While recent approaches have achieved remarkable performance in single-target scenarios, extending them to multi-target settings typically involves replicating the single-target processing for each individual object, resulting in reduced frame rates (FPS) with unbounded latency as target count increases. Built upon Segment Anything 2 (SAM2), we propose SAM-MT, which addresses this by transforming the model into an interactive framework for real-time Multi-Target video segmentation. SAM-MT uses expli
Notes to Self: Can LLMs Benefit from Experiential Abstractions?
Humans distill experience into reusable abstractions, e.g., strategies and cautionary reminders, and apply them to gradually solve problems more effectively. We study whether Large Language Models (LLMs) can similarly benefit from such experiential abstractions. From LLMs' solution traces on the MATH training set, a stronger teacher or the LLMs themselves extract natural-language abstractions into a retrievable library. We explore two usage modes: (1) inference-time retrieval and (2) reinforcement learning (RL) with abstraction-augmented training prompts. Experiential abstractions improve LLM
Adaptive Multi-Step Lookahead Decoding for Diffusion Language Models
Masked diffusion language models (DLMs) enable parallel text generation by iteratively refining masked tokens, offering a promising alternative to autoregressive decoding. Recent lookahead-based decoding methods improve the accuracy--efficiency trade-off by exploring future decoding states before committing token updates. However, existing approaches mainly rely on shallow one-step lookahead, which optimizes immediate information gain but can be suboptimal for longer-horizon decoding trajectories. Meanwhile, we find that a naive extension for deeper lookahead is also ineffective, as fixed-dept
