On the Fragility of Self-Improving Agents: Variance, Task Order, and Underspecification
Memory-based self-improving agents--those that learn from an online stream of tasks and improve over time by maintaining a textual memory bank--have shown great promise in recent literature. However, the reliability aspects of these methods have been critically overlooked. In this work, we conduct a comprehensive re-evaluation of two memory-based methods, broadening the scope of evaluation along two axes: (1) including multiple runs to quantify variance, and (2) randomly shuffling the tasks to investigate the effect of task order. Through these experiments, we make two observations that expose
Hierarchical Acoustic-Semantic Modeling: Modality Separation and Semantic Coherence for Full-Duplex SLMs
Developing seamless, high-performance, native intelligent full-duplex Spoken Language Models (SLMs) remains a critical challenge and long-standing goal for the speech and NLP community. Despite notable progress, recent endeavors are fundamentally constrained by severe modality interference, which causes substantial knowledge degradation and compromises semantic integrity -- ultimately making full-duplex SLMs feel unnatural and unintelligent. In this paper, through an exhaustive fine-grained analysis of model optimization dynamics, we uncover the root cause of such performance degradation, reve
Video = World + Event Stream
We present Wan-Streamer v0.3, which reframes our native-streaming interaction model under a single organizing view: a video is a world plus an event stream. The world is the persistent context in which a video unfolds, including the environment, scene, subjects, ambient acoustic conditions, voice characteristics, and other relatively stable conditions. The event stream is everything that changes over time within that world, including scene or environmental changes, subject behavior, speech, and other sounds. This yields a general-purpose pretraining task over large amounts of real video: given
ABot-3DWorld 0: A Universal World Model to Explore Any 3D Space
We present ABot-3DWorld 0, a universal multimodal 3D world model that turns text, image, and video inputs into high-fidelity, explorable 3D worlds. At the heart of our framework is a unified Spatial Generative Primitive (SGP), a compact tuple of a high-quality panorama and a spatial point cloud that delivers an efficient description of any 3D space. Multimodal inputs are first lifted into this primitive; a 3D-consistent panoramic video generator then explores the primitive along a planned trajectory; finally, our panoramic video reconstruction engine converts the generated video into a clean,
StepGuard: Learning Step-Level Guardrails with Scalable Supervision and Safety-Utility Balancing
LLM-based agents can interact with external environments through tool invocation, but this capability also introduces security risks such as file modification, information leakage, and unauthorized actions. Existing guardrails often evaluate completed trajectories, leaving pre-execution monitoring of step-level actions underexplored. We propose StepGuard, a step-level guard model that can audit completed agent trajectories and check tool actions before they are executed. To train StepGuard, we introduce StepGen, an automatic data engine that generates safe and unsafe trajectories with the same
